| The Difko Shipping Department acquires tonnage, develops shipping investment projects and provides consultancy and sparring for the management teams in the 17 active companies we now administer.
Our current fleet consists of 22 vessels in the dry bulk, clean product, chemical, general cargo/small reefer, multipurpose/heavy lift and container feeder sectors.
The various vessels in our fleet are either on time charter, bareboat charter or operate in the spot market either individually or in pool arrangements.
We act on behalf of our investors in securing attractive opportunities for investment in shipping. Over more than 30 years we have participated in the acquisition of 85 vessels, the majority being new builds.
In the dry cargo, multipurpose and container vessel segments, we are generally interested in vessels up to 15 years old, and preferably younger.
In the tanker segment, we also emphasise the importance of vessels being double hulled, that they have high quality coating and are less than 10 years old.
The limited partnership outsources management of its activities and negotiates contracts for commercial management, technical & crewing management with appropriate shipping professionals - and corporate management of the limited partnership with Difko.
